Camp Meeting 2017

Craigsville Camp Meeting has an amazing history. Its historic success can be attributed to but one source, God's divine presence. I have heard it said in many religious venues, "If God shows up" and they go on to speak of the success of that event. At Craigsville it has never been a question of "if" but "when". Many years have come and gone since the first message was delivered at Camp Meeting. Beyond that initial message remained one persistent blessing, for those who come to Craigsville with an open heart and ears to hear the Spirit of God, God's virtue reached out to meet their needs.

I have heard countless stories from those who have experienced God's presence and power first hand at Camp Meeting. Many have spoken of the instantaneous act of God's divine healing having taken place in both the old and new tabernacle. God has answered prayer after prayer on behalf of loved ones as a results of the saints gathering at Bethel. I wonder just how many Pastors have acknowledged and accepted their call to ministry while kneeling at the altar during Camp Meeting at the close of a powerful worship services. I have watched young men and women grow-up listening to the truths preached there who have developed deep seeded commitments to being lifelong participants within the Church of God. Then there are those canal and flesh driven Christians, who have sacrifice themselves surrendering to the sanctifying power of God as they yielded to the call of the Holy Spirit of God. Best of all I have heard so many testimonies, I've watched individuals kneel and pray, and I have had to privilege of kneeling alongside repentant sinners who have invited the Jesus Christ into their hearts to be their Lord and Savior.

What does the future hold for Craigsville Camp Meeting? That too rest in the hands of our almighty God. We can keep the lights on, the program committee can provide a wonderful slate of preachers and a tremendous theme, and hundreds can gather on the grounds; however Craigsville Camp Meeting's success rest in none of those fulfillments of man's responsibilities, it depends totally on God showing up. Please pray for this year's Camp Meeting.
